Tele-Astranar 105mm f2.8

Tele-Astranar 105mm f2.8 preset lens in T to F mount; I believe this may be a Tokyo Koki (Tonkina) in disguise. The lens was in very sad condition when I acquired it; I proceeded to fix it anyways, and I am very glad that I did, the bokeh is amazing.

More Than a Crown: Miss Michigan Scholarship Program Shapes Future Leaders

The dazzling gowns, incredible talents, and inspiring speeches seen in the highlight video are just one part of the story. The Miss Michigan Scholarship Program, and its integral Miss Michigan’s Teen component, is far more than a traditional pageant. It is a powerful engine for empowerment, education, and community impact, shaping Michigan’s finest young women for decades.

At its core, Miss Michigan’s mission is simple yet profound: to prepare great women for the world, and prepare the world for great women.

Think of the young women showcased – from Miss Michigan 2025, Hannah Palmer, to Miss Michigan’s Teen 2025, Libbie Tacia. Each embarks on a transformative journey, developing invaluable life skills like confidence, leadership, service, and discipline.

Crucially, the Miss Michigan Scholarship Program is one of the largest providers of scholarships for women in the state of Michigan. These are not just symbolic awards; they are tangible investments in education. Each year, significant cash scholarships are awarded—from $10,000 for Miss Michigan to $1,500 for Miss Michigan’s Teen, plus numerous awards for runners-up, semi-finalists, and specific achievements. These funds are vital, helping ambitious young women pursue higher education, alleviating financial burdens, and opening doors to bright futures.

When individuals support the Miss Michigan Scholarship Program, they’re not just supporting a single event; they’re investing in the next generation of Michigan’s leaders and community advocates. They’re helping build confidence, foster responsibility, and ignite a lifelong passion for learning and giving back.

The program invites everyone to delve deeper into the stories of these remarkable women and consider how they can be a part of this empowering mission. Whether it’s through a donation to the scholarship fund, volunteering time, or cheering on the incredible contestants next year— their involvement truly makes a difference.

Join Miss Michigan as they continue to empower women and shape futures, one scholarship at a time. Learn more at https://MissMichigan.org.

Afterdark – Herman Ivory Terminal

The Herman Ivory Terminal of The Muskegon Area Transit System (MATS) located at 351 Morris Ave, Muskegon, MI 49440. It’s a beautiful structure, especially at night.

Who is Herman Ivory? He was a Muskegon County Commissioner from 1969-1990, here is the plaque on the side of the building.

Carter

I find it very easy to photograph people when they are in their natural environment. In this case, Frauenthal Center’s lighting designer Carter B.

The Plenum

Sometimes I get to go to some pretty cool places, and a lot of times its to places with a sign outside that says “No Admittance”. In this case it’s the plenum under the historical Frauenthal Center. In architecture, a plenum is a space within a building, often located between the structural ceiling and a dropped ceiling, or under a raised floor, that facilitates air circulation for HVAC systems. Specifically, in this case, the giant cold air return space under the seats. Touching the original floor from 1929, laying on the floor before there’s a floor.

Washington St. – Grand Haven, Michigan, Photo Mosaic

17 years later, this “photo” is ready to be seen the way it’s supposed to, I knew back in 2008 I will have to wait until I have enough computing power in the future, however I didn’t know it will be 17 years later until I “remember” to finish it, but I seem to remember that like it was last year.

From a technical stand point, the shots were below average, It wasn’t a well thought out process, it was an experiment, it was cold, it was over an hour walking up and down the street. But it worked in favor of a Mosaic – it IS supposed to be a mosaic.

I laughed at the final .psb at approx. 82,384 x 2570px , and i forgot the maximum jpg width is 65,535px btw, at a 1:32 scale. That means if its 36″ tall it would be 3632″ wide. Someone suggested it can be used for a lobby wrap around, perhaps someone would want to, give it another 17 years.
