All digital and film formats, Chemical developing and printing, Film Digitizing, Traditional and digital darkroom.
Editing software used:
– Corel Paint Shop Pro, Corel Draw, Nikon Capture NX, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Lightroom, Traditional darkroom techniques for silver gelatin printing.
Equipment used:
Digital – Nikon D800 | Olympus OMD.
135 Format  – Nikon F5 , Nikon F4, Nikon FE, Nikon F, Minolta SRT , XK, Exakta and others.
Medium Format – Rolleiflex T, Mamiya 645, and others.
Large Format – Speed Graphic 4×5, Crown Graphic 2 ¼ x 3 ¼ , Calumet 4×5.
Various darkroom equipment including enlargers for all formats.
Epson V4490 and V500 film scanner.
Smith Victor Studio Flashes.

2013 to Present –  Video Production –
Record and render SD and FHD formats from a variety of sources, audio mixing, color correction and complete editing. 8mm and Super 8mm film editing and production, as well as digital conversion.

2017 to Present – Live Broadcast Director and Producer –
Live Broadcast Director and Producer. As of 2022 Derek had directed over 55 live broadcasts, both online and local cable channel.

2005 to Present – Sound and Audio Production –
Record, edit and master up to 8 input sources on both digital and analog equipment, basic mixing from PA and studio consoles.
Equipment used: 16 channel mixing board, pa system operation, and digital audio workstation.

2001 to Present – Digital Media Practices –
General Knowledge of HTML and CSS, Social media and blogging platforms, Portfolio creation, WordPress and Joomla platform, embedding, page layout, SEO, editing and production software.

2009 to Present – Vintage camera and related equipment repair –
Research and complete repairs for all major brands of photographic equipment from 1905 forward, parts fabrication and replacement, electronic and mechanical repair skills.

2016 – 2019 – Official Photographer for the Muskegon Lumberjacks Hockey Organization – United States Hockey League.

2017 – 2018 – 
Official Photographer for the Muskegon Risers Soccer Club – National Premier Soccer League / Major Arena Soccer II.

2017- Present – Camera Operator – Berlin Raceway, Marne, MI – NASCAR Affiliated , NBC Trackpass.
