Carter

I find it very easy to photograph people when they are in their natural environment. In this case, Frauenthal Center’s lighting designer Carter B.

The Plenum

Sometimes I get to go to some pretty cool places, and a lot of times its to places with a sign outside that says “No Admittance”. In this case it’s the plenum under the historical Frauenthal Center. In architecture, a plenum is a space within a building, often located between the structural ceiling and a dropped ceiling, or under a raised floor, that facilitates air circulation for HVAC systems. Specifically, in this case, the giant cold air return space under the seats. Touching the original floor from 1929, laying on the floor before there’s a floor.

NAFEM 25- ATLANTA

Had the opportunity to work for one of the vendors at North American Association of Food Equipment Manufacturers (NAFEM 25) show in Atlanta, GA. Let’s take a look at behind the scene.

Washington St. – Grand Haven, Michigan, Photo Mosaic

17 years later, this “photo” is ready to be seen the way it’s supposed to, I knew back in 2008 I will have to wait until I have enough computing power in the future, however I didn’t know it will be 17 years later until I “remember” to finish it, but I seem to remember that like it was last year.

From a technical stand point, the shots were below average, It wasn’t a well thought out process, it was an experiment, it was cold, it was over an hour walking up and down the street. But it worked in favor of a Mosaic – it IS supposed to be a mosaic.

I laughed at the final .psb at approx. 82,384 x 2570px , and i forgot the maximum jpg width is 65,535px btw, at a 1:32 scale. That means if its 36″ tall it would be 3632″ wide. Someone suggested it can be used for a lobby wrap around, perhaps someone would want to, give it another 17 years.

Aurora Borealis, Northern Lights – Muskegon

October 11th 2024, Muskegon, Michigan. Several months ago I didn’t see anything when there was supposed to be northern lights, but I was able to capture some images this time around. It wasn’t quite visible with our own eyes at this location, perhaps its the light pollution, but now I know what to look for – “a faint colored haze”. But with the help of long exposure of a camera I can help it to achieve its full potential.
